Supplier to aircraft industry buys 12 Lean-Lifts in order to gain space.

WSK Rzeszow produces engines and gears for renowned manufacturers in the aircraft industry such as Pratt & Whitney and Boeing. WSK was founded in 1937 and is an industry leader today in central Europe. It used to be state-owned, but since 2002 WSK has belonged to the United Technologies Corporation. The plant in Rzeszow employs 4000 people.
The 12 Lean-Lifts will be used to store tools and standard parts along with raw materials and production components. The main reasons for WSK''s investment were a lack of space in the production department and work safety. Previously the components were stored on pallets on the floor of the production hall, or materials were brought in from another site, which was very time-consuming and occasionally caused industrial accidents due to the busy forklift traffic.
One Lean-Lift will be 12 meters tall and equipped with 2 access points and high-speed doors. It will be used to bring production supplies to the ground floor and to transport materials to the upper floor. The other devices will be 3, 7 and 10 meters tall. Some of the lifts will be fitted with barcode scanners, ESD protection and automated infeed/outfeed. A container payload capacity of 1000 kg has been made possible so that heavy components can be placed in storage.''
ISL won the contract against multiple rival bids from various competitors. ISL provided comprehensive consultancy and planning, including advice regarding building regulations and safety aspects. In addition to this, WSK had already experienced good results with 3 Lean-Lifts and 2 Rotomats in another building.
