THE CLIENT: Salt Lake Community College

Salt Lake Community College is the largest college in Utah today with the most diverse student body recorded. Besides the main campus in Taylorsville, there are thirteen total locations for SLCC. Typically new students are high school graduates that seek a higher education and will later transfer to a four-year school.  Salt Lake City Community College program degrees offer their attendees the following: Associate of Arts (A.A), Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.), Associate of Science (A.S.), Associate of Pre-Engineering (A.P.E), Certificates of Completion, Certificates of Proficiency, Letter of General Education Completion, and Diplomas.

THE SITUATION:

Salt lake community college was building a new media production studio. Many needs for storage were required for a variety of audio visual AV storage equipment and props for the studio. There was also new custodian space that required storage shelving for janitorial equipment and supplies.

THE SOLUTION:

36”, 48: and 96:” wide shelving with five to ten levels and 7 different sizes of bins were required as well as utility trucks to provide mobile storage solutions. Pallet Rack was also used.

ABOUT THE PRODUCT:

Stak-N-Store Bins (stackable storage containers), which comes from the Akro Mils brand, were chosen as the product for the customer. The Stack and Store Bins feature large comfort grip handles and large radius corners with a curved upper lip that adds strength. The side ribs insure stability when stacked. Wide-hopper front allows easy access. Another Akro-Mils product called Akro-Grids were also provided, which features dividers and slots that allow you to create hundreds of different compartment sizes. Strong stacking rims and external ribbing provide added durability.
