Hydratech specializes in all sizes and types of custom-made pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders and components. Hydratech is a leading manufacturer of these products for businesses including construction machinery, dump trucks, farm equipment, mining, branches of the military, and more.

THE SITUATION:

Hydratech needed an organized place to store their heavy pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders while increasing productivity. They also needed something that has a high weight capacity so they can store many cylinders.

ABOUT THE PRODUCT:

A SpaceSaver Rack is a large, open storage unit that uses drawer-like shelves to store products. They are not regular platform shelves, but are arms stationed across the length of the rack to hold the long products horizontally. The arms are easily rolled in and out with a hand crank. The arms roll out for loading and unloading of products, and they roll in for storage that is out of the way. SpaceSaver Racks use an overhead crane to help get the long and heavy products on and off the storage unit. These racks can be used to store bundles of metal, dies, hydraulic cylinders, fixtures, rolls, and any other products handled by a crane.

All SpaceSaver Racks are made to order. They come in both, single sided and double sided for additional storage. The racks can be 3 feet, 4 feet, 5 feet, 6 feet, 7 feet, and 8 feet tall. The lengths of the racks also vary, from 12 feet, 24 feet, 36 feet, 48 feet, 60 feet, and more. The longer the rack, the more arms (grids) are needed. Grids are not only added to store longer products, but also to increase capacity or to store more limber objects. Each level of the rack is considered a receptacle, which comes in many sizes as well. The receptacle’s width (front to back) comes in 20 inches, 24 inches, 30 inches and 36 inches, with a height of either 12 inches or 15 inches. Fixed dividers have the same idea, but are less customizable. Fixed dividers divide the receptacles width in half while peg dividers can be placed anywhere in between. Using dividers allows you to stay organized while storing more than one product in a receptacle at a time. If the product you want to store isn’t long enough or is too limber, you can easily insert an auxiliary support, to help hold the product. Auxiliary supports are available for any rack size.
